Air
Dry Coatings
We undertake air dry coatings for components of upto almost
any size offering single pack, two pack and three pack
systems.
Primers
Primers, including zinc rich primers can be applied as required.
Single
Pack Air Dry Coatings
Single pack systems are generally less costly
than a powder coating although are not high
performance. They can be used in conjunction
with a primer although
fufill both roles as primer and sealer and are high build with a dry film thicknesses
of 100µm. Single pack
systems
are ideal where subsequent site work such as welding or drilling is undertaken
and
a final
touch
up is required
with a brush. Our standard one pack system is the
233 Air Drying Alkyd from
Cromadex which meets the requirements of Defence Standard 80-27.
Two
Pack Air Dry Coatings
Two pack polyurethane systems are available with excellent chemical & corrosion
resistance
(over
1000
salt spray hours) and are ideal for suitably primed steel or aluminium including
galvanised components used in chemically aggressive environments. We offer both
the
600 Two Pack Polyurethane Topcoat and the
700 Two
Pack Epoxy Topcoat from
Cromadex, although we can also supply other systems.
Three
Coat Air Dry Coatings
For specialist applications three coat paint systems can be applied for extra
durability, corrosion resistance or specialist standards.
Finishes
air dry coatings are available in arange of textures and gloss levels.
Textures available include leatherettes, hammer and smooth. Gloss levels
available
include:
- Matt:
30% gloss
- Satin:
60% gloss
- Full
Gloss: 80% gloss
Applications
Air dry coatings are ideal for components with heat sensitive
elements such as nylon fittings, form in place & attached gaskets and specialist
metallic properties.
